How You Can Make A Difference

The need for our services continues to grow as more and more families in our community experience homelessness. Daily, our staff turns away parents and children who will end up sleeping in cars, or tents, or unsafe conditions because we have no space for them. Without our dedicated network of hosting and supporting congregations, FPGO could not serve the families we do.

But we must do more. A second network of churches would instantly double our capacity allowing us to serve eight families at any given time, or up to 80 families annually. You can share in the FPGO mission of helping homeless families to achieve lasting self-sufficiency by encouraging your own church to become a hosting or supporting congregation.

Your Donation Goes A Long Way

Businesses, congregations, corporations, foundations, or individual donations can help Family Promise of Greater Orlando. In making a personal donation, please remember that some employers may match your gift. Some community groups or schools have initiated creative fundraisers in their efforts to support the FPGO mission.

Every dollar FPGO receives is matched by approximately $1.40 in in-kind giving making FPGO cost effective. Local congregations provide accommodations for the guest families, prepare meals and staff the shelter. Without these in-kind donations, FPGO would much less cost effective.

FPGO is incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and all gifts are tax-deductible.

Wish List

Family Promise welcomes the donation of the items listed below that will greatly assist our current and former guests. Items can be delivered to our Day Center during business hours. Items needed are:

  • Books and Toys for Children
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Laundry Soap
  • Paper Towels
  • Toiletry Items (soap, shampoo)
  • Toilet Paper

Participate in a Fundraiser

Share the Love Walk
Each February, FPGO participates in the Share the Love Walk for Families. Participants seek donors to support them in this three-mile walk/run or a one-mile family friendly course. The proceeds from this event go toward helping homeless families with children.

 

Golf Marathon
Each fall, FPGO hosts our annual Golf Marathon.  The proceeds from this event go toward helping homeless families with children.
